About

MOMS Club was started in the fall of 1983 by founder Mary B. James. The first local chapter was in Simi Valley, California. Word spread about the wonderful support that the MOMS Club offered to at-home mothers and it quickly became a national organization in 1985. We now have over 2,100 chapters with more than 100,000 members across the United States. Not only are we gowing across the nation but MOMS (MOMS Offering Moms Support®) Club has expanded internationally!

In the spring of 2004 a woman named Nicole Manners moved to Visalia. She connected with a couple of moms at a local park and that group of moms decided to form a chapter. It quickly blossomed- they met at parks weekly, developed playgroups, and got together monthly for MOMS Night out. Many of the moms who volunteered in leadership roles in the chapter went on to take other leadership roles in the community and are still friends today- now with teenagers in high school and adult children who have gone out on their own.

The Visalia chapter has evolved over the years based on the needs of it’s members but just like that first group of moms, lifelong friendships are still being made.
